My experience with senior living started early while still in High School 28 years ago. I came to Summerfield 22 years ago, and never looked back! I love what I do because it gives me the opportunity to make a difference in not only our residents’ lives but their families as well. I get to implement our vision of what compassionate quality care looks like with the support of our phenomenal caring and supportive team. I get to go home with a sense of accomplishment, knowing we impact our residents’ everyday and make lasting relationships with their families. I love my job and I take great pride in leading Summerfield of Fresno.

While I’m a proud grandma who loves jet-setting adventures, hanging out with my tribe, and pampering my furry friends, my heart’s true calling lies in serving my community. My mission is to infuse a touch of warmth and certainty in the maze of memory care, offering not just quality but a personalized, compassionate experience. Because in a world of uncertainties, everyone deserves to feel at home.

I am the Business Office Manager; I have been with Summerfield of Fresno for 11 years. I enjoy working at Summerfield and being around our residents and their families. I am here to serve each family individually, just as we offer customized care for our residents, I thrive on customizing my customer service to serve each you uniquely.

Theresa M Barajas

I have Been in senior living industry for over 15 years and as the Chef here at Summerfield of Fresno Community for 14 years. My passion has always been quality food growing up on a farm. I was in the restaurant industry for 15 years and when my grandfather was diagnosed with dimension at the age of 92 and passed within the year I was drawn to senior living and specifically memory care. Here I get to fulfill my dream of working with food and cooking for those with memory impairment. Food is a huge part of our day to day here at the community and I want to make sure they are being served the best! Summerfield of Fresno has allowed me to learn when you love what you do it’s no longer just a job, it’s a passion.

Maintenance Director

Vance Contrestano

After getting out of the US Army I utilized the GI Bill to pay for HVAC school. Primarily doing HVAC for two years I ventured off into apartment maintenance. Learning multiple skills working with my hands, I eventually became a Maintenance Supervisor for multiple complexes in the central valley. Wanting a smaller and more personal home feel I took the position of the Maintenance Director at Summerfield in 2017.Working in memory care was a change of pace for me, but a good change. There is never a dull moment here at Summerfield Fresno. I thrive in knowing there is always something to improve at the property to help our residents live in a clean and homelike environment.

Krystle Rodriguez

I have 15 years of experience in Senior Living. I found my passion in serving the elderly when i was just 8 years old volunteering at a Skilled Nursing community. I enjoy connecting with each person I encounter and finding unique ways to make a difference in their lives! I thrive on serving our residents, and providing them with options, purpose, and a thriving lifestyle.

Resident Care Director

Cynthia Galvan

I am a licensed vocational nurse that has over 15 years working with the geriatric community. This is where I find my greatest passion, helping others. It really makes me smile and brings joy to my heart when I see someone put a smile on their face when assisting our residents. I have been a Resident Care Director in assisted living for the past 3 years. Most of my experience I have gained is from working in skilled nursing facilities here in Fresno, CA. I am a native of Fresno, I attended Roosevelt High School, went off to UCSC, and returned back to the hometown I love. I have two sons. My youngest is newly married, to a beautiful fantastic woman that I consider as my daughter, the daughter that I never had. I live with my eldest son, and we spend a lot of time together, going out to dinner or going and seeing our favorite team, the 49ers play at Levi’s stadium. I added two more to my family that I love as my own children, my Chihuahuas, Armani Valentino and Zoey. I spend most of my free time taking care of them. However, most of my time is spent here at Summerfield of Fresno, Memory Care. I love my job and I love the smiles we see each and every day here at Summerfield.
